In-class Process Post 2/6/25

I'm working on my first ever process critique project right now! I'm now about halfway through my allotted class time to work, but still have a long ways to go. I'm painting from an old photo of my mom in the 90s soon after she moved to the US, and plan to decorate the background with (possibly 3D) flowers and plants. My goals for this critique are depth and contrast. I definitely think my depth has improved as I'm no longer looking at only side profiles, but I'll have to make sure that I emphasize contrast once I start working on the background.
